Tippy Toe
Ages : 0 and up

Tippy Tippy Tiptoe, off we go.
Tippy Tippy Tiptoe, to and fro.
Tippy Tippy Tiptoe, through the house
Tippy Tippy Tiptoe, quiet as a mouse.

Use your fingers to "tiptoe" up baby's arm, over his or her head anddown the other arm. Tiptoeing around the house while holding baby and whispering the words is another way for baby to experience your voice. If you're both walking, baby might enjoy leading you around as you say the rhyme together.

Gurgles and Coos
Ages : 3 to 6 months
Conversation with your baby can begin at birth. By three to six months, baby will begin making babbling sounds. When baby makes these sounds, make similar sounds back and look into baby's eyes and smile. As baby grows, the ability to vocalise new sounds increases, especially if they have been spoken and sung to by a sensitive caregiver. When baby engages you in conversation by making sounds, begin repeating the sound back as it might be contained in a familiar word. For example, baby says "pa", and you say "Papa", ba...bottle, ma...mama, be...baby and so on. Older siblings are good at coming up with creative words. Baby reaches out in many ways to communicate. Paying attention and responding encourages language development.
